Presidential Installation

Intention & Impact

On May 12, in addition to celebrating thousands of accomplished graduates, The University of New Mexico will commemorate the installation of its 23rd president, Garnett S. Stokes.

With new leadership come new opportunities and a chance to re-examine our impact on the world—collectively and as individuals.

How will you change the world?

Each of us has the power to make change—in our community, our state and our nation. What we [do] matters.

We come to UNM for countless reasons. Most intend to [discover] new passions. Some intend to [unearth] history. Others intend to [give] unparalleled care to our patients. Intentions are the driving force for what we will [achieve].

They help transform thoughts and values into action.

And so, we ask, how will you change the world?
What are your intentions?
How will you make a meaningful impact?

At UNM, each of us defines all of us. And our impact—the combined effort of all our students, faculty, staff, and alumni—what we [contribute] to the coming generations.

This challenge is to you, Lobos.

Activate your imagination.
Discover your purpose.
And define your future.

Together our intention and impact, driven by action, will change the world around us.

WHAT WE [DO] CHANGES THE WORLD.
